Program Management

Adam Byrnes, Regional Program Manager
Adam Byrnes is a Regional Program Manager for the CaliforniaFIRST statewide program. He offers intimate knowledge of local government having worked as a legislative aide for the Vice Mayor of San Jose and, most recently, as a local government relations representative for PG&E in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. Byrnes holds a BA in Political Science and a BA in American Studies from Cal State Fullerton.

Yang-Yang Chen, Program Manager
Yang-Yang Chen is the program manager for the Los Angeles County and San Diego City PACE programs.  Before coming to Renewable Funding, Chen worked on international development programs for the World Bank and started up a microfinance NGO. She received a BA in economics from Columbia University and a MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

Steve Frenkel, Midwest Regional Director
Steve Frenkel works with state and local governments, businesses and other entities to establish PACE programs tailored to the needs and priorities of the region. Frenkel previously served as Chief Policy Advisor at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, and as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Illinois State Governor's Office, where he directed the state's energy, environmental and economic development policy. Frenkel holds a Master’s degree from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.

Anthony Harrison, Project Manager
Anthony Harrison is the Project Manager for the CaliforniaFIRST statewide program. His background includes work in energy and sustainability policy for many Silicon Valley based tech companies, and as a legislative aide in the California State Assembly. He holds a BA in Political Science with a focus in State and Local Politics from San Jose State University.

Ken Hejmanowski, Program Manager
Ken Hejmanowski manages various aspects of Renewable Funding’s PACE programs including residential program design, project eligibility criteria, and commercial program standards. He has a background in software development, green tech, and sustainability. Hejmanowski holds an MBA in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School.

Annie Henderson, Program Director

Annie Henderson is the Program Director for the CaliforniaFIRST statewide program.  She brings a wealth of experience in the renewable energy industry and managed the rollout of the California Solar Initiative’s Solar Hot Water Pilot.  She holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mike Marcus, Regional Program Manager
Mike Marcus is a Regional Program Manager for the CaliforniaFIRST statewide program. Prior to joining Renewable Funding, he served as Associate City Planner and Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Benicia and is active in nonprofit leadership. In 2007, Marcus was awarded the American Planning Association's prestigious National Planning Leadership Award for a Student Planner. He holds a BS in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Karen Miao, Program Manager
Karen Miao supports program development for Renewable Funding's municipal and statewide programs and is the manager of the San Francisco GreenFinanceSF program.   She has diverse work experience in solar and financial services and has served as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Miao holds a BA from the University of Michigan and a MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.

ProjectDX Technology Team

Daniel Etra, Product Development Manager
Daniel Etra leads the PDX team in setting the direction for websites and for the implementation of our technical services. He has experience in software development, social marketing and outreach, large-scale event planning, and organizational change. He holds a BA in Sociology from Reed College and an MBA in Sustainable Business from Bainbridge Graduate Institute.

Darrell Fuhriman, Systems & Data Engineer
Darrell wrangles data and corrals systems. In his copious free time he rows and teaches Geographic Information Systems at Portland State University. He holds a BS in Geography from Portland State University, and an MS in Geography from Penn State University, where he studied Environmental Justice and the Political Ecology of e-waste in Accra, Ghana. He has an unfortunate travel addiction.

Sarah Horn, Product Marketing Specialist
Sarah Horn is the Product Marketing Specialist for Renewable Funding's web based technologies.  Prior to joining Renewable Funding, she worked in the public sector on green building, energy conservation and urban agriculture programs.  Horn holds a M.S. in urban geography with a focus on sustainable design and a B.A. in urban ecology from the University of Colorado.

Dave Miller, Software Developer
Dave Miller is a member of Renewable Funding's software development team. In his free time he plays the bass violin and volunteers on the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol. He holds a BS in Engineering Physics from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree  in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin.

Craig Watkins, Web Designer
Craig Watkins provides design direction and front end development for ProjectDX technology. He received a BA in Multimedia Design from Evergreen State College and has been creating web sites and web based applications for 8 years.

Operations

Jose (Joe) Pasalados, Director of Operations

Joe Pasalodos brings extensive process in design and operations experience to Renewable Funding. He has spent 28 years in the mortgage industry, most of which has been in the management of processing, underwriting, funding and customer service platforms across the country. He has Six Sigma certifications on processes for service industries.  Pasalados is also active in the volunteer community in San Francisco.

Accounting and Finance

Andrew Griffin, Financial Analyst
Andrew Griffin is a member of Renewable Funding's finance team and focuses on program finance.  Prior to joining Renewable Funding, Griffin worked in both the public sector and investment banking.  He holds a BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

Policy and Business Development

Simón Bryce, Business Development Director
Simón Bryce has an accomplished career in local government and was honored by the National Forum of Black Public Administrators in 2003 as being the nation's top young public official. Bryce received his BA from the University of Virginia, holds a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, is a member of the Virginia and California State Bar Associations and maintains his FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 securities licenses. 

Nick Chaset, Government Affairs Manager, Washington D.C.
Nick Chaset focuses on federal legislation and policy making.  Before coming to Renewable Funding, he worked at the California Public Utilities Commission on solar energy policy.  He holds a BA in International Relations from Tufts University, and is pursuing an MBA at Georgetown University.

Kelley McKanna, Project Manager

Kelley McKanna focuses on federal and state policy, government and stakeholder relations and communications. Before coming to Renewable Funding she developed UC Berkeley's 2008 Sustainability Assessment and worked on green economic development initiatives at the East Bay Economic Development Alliance.  She holds a BA in Environmental Economics and Policy from UC Berkeley.

Jeff Rouser, Business Development Director for ProjectDX Technology Services
Jeff Rouser leads business development and programs for our technology services business.   His primary experience is in building software services businesses, mostly with engineering, construction, and utility providers.  He was also a CIO for the government business unit at Bechtel Corporation.  Rouser holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University and a MBA from Boston University.

Human Resources

Angelo Maddox, Office Operations and Human Resources Manager
Angelo Maddox oversees office operations for Renewable Funding.  His primary responsibilities include, office, facilities and human resource management.  He initially worked directly with the City of Berkeley on their pilot program, one of the first property assessed clean energy programs in the country. He has a passion for renewable processes.

Office Administration

Liz Bouchama, Office Manager
Liz Bouchama liases with all departments and manages logistics to ensure the smooth functioning of Renewable Funding.  Prior to joining Renewable Funding, she worked in the construction industry and taught English in Mexico.  Bouchama holds a BA in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara.

Brooke Heckaman, Executive Assistant
Brooke Heckaman supports Renewable Funding CEO Stephen Campagni-Portis and lends her organizational skill to help manage special projects.  Drawing from her experience launching two successful companies in the design and building sector, Brooke is adept at building efficient and effective processes at start-ups, increasing communication and streamlining rapid growth.  She’s also an experienced event producer and photographer. She holds a BA in Marketing from the University of San Francisco.
