Renewable Funding works with cities and counties to design, launch, and administer PACE programs. More information on the services provided to individual municipalities is available here.
The PACE concept was developed and successfully piloted by the City of Berkeley. The $1.5 million pilot launched in November of 2008, and applications were closed within the first 10 minutes due to overwhelming demand.

Boulder County, Colorado has established a municipal financing district to fund solar PV, solar hot water, small wind, and energy efficiency measures. The initial phase of the program, began in April of 2009 and the second phase will begin in September of 2009. The program received 517 applications for over $9.5 million in financing for the first phase.

The City and County of San Francisco is one of the most recent municipalities to launch a PACE style program and is still actively engaged in the program design phase. This program promises to be ambitious in scope,with plans to finance renewable energy, energy efficiency, and water conservation for single family residential, multifamily residential, commercial, and non-profit properties.

The California Statewide Communities Development Authority (“California Communities”) is the largest Joint Powers Authority in the State, with over 500 local government members. Created by the California Association of Counties and League of Cities 20 years ago, the Authority has provided over $40 billion in financing for public interest projects. Following a competitive process, California Communities selected Renewable Funding and its partner, RBC Capital Markets, to develop, administer and finance a statewide energy efficiency and renewable energy program. The California Center for Sustainable Energy and EcoMotion are program partners in the effort.

Los Angeles County is investing approximately $11 million in federal grant funds to build a PACE program to serve the county's 88 cities and nearly 10 million residents. Renewable Funding has been selected to develop and administer the PACE program and will work in partnership with BKi, Build It Green, Energy Coalition and South Bay Environmental Service Centers.
